Ms. Cynthia A. Mannery was raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon receiving her High School Diploma from Eastern Senior High School, Ms. Mannery attended the Community College of Baltimore, studying Law Enforcement and working full time at Travelers Insurance Company. In 1983 she decided pursue her utmost passion and joined the United States Army. Upon completing Basic Training and Advance Instructor Training at Fort Jackson, SC, she earned her MOS as an Administrative Specialist. During her tour at Fort Jackson she was also given the privilege of attending Drill Sergeant School and completed the Drill Corporal Training being assigned to Delta Company, 11th Battalion, 4th Brigade. She then transferred to HHC, 5th Infantry Division in Fort Polk, La., assigned to the Office of the Inspector General. Her final tour of duty was at the 208th Support Battalion in Baumholder, Germany.
Ms. Mannery went on to work for the United States Postal Service for two years and then transferred to the state of Michigan. Ms. Mannery has been part of the Federal Service for twenty-plus years with sixteen years as our invaluable Human Resources Assistant here at the Naval ROTC Unit. She has maintained her belief that education is an important factor in life by attending Eastern Michigan University and received an A.A. Degree in Business Administration at Washtenaw Community College.
Ms. Mannery enjoys traveling, reading, stage plays, music and spending time with her daughter, Tiffany, dog, Ayashi “Bozo” Hoshi, friends and colleagues.
